Sorry We’re Closed

Now you know good and well that the mall closes at 9pm. This time has NEVER wavered. But for some reason 9pm to retail associates and 9pm to customers don’t mean the same thing. Ironic huh? 😒

So when we see YOU, yes YOU come into our store at 8:55pm, no we are not happy, and no we don’t want to help you. YES, we are cussing you out in our heads in multiple different languages, and rightfully so.

You basically just told us that you have no respect for our time nor our store. I am about 80% sure that whatever you came in here for, you could’ve gotten tomorrow during normal business hours. If you MUST come in and grab something then at least make it QUICK.

Although I’m not sure why a shirt is soooo important at 8:55 I will ring you up and get you out the store IF you came in and got that ONE shirt and left. But everyone in retail knows it NEVER turns out that way. A customer comes in at 8:55 and at 9:30 they are STILL shopping like the mall is still open.

Sorry not Sorry!

Nope. Not today! That not so warm welcome you got coming into the store is about to get a lot worse if you don’t pick those clothes out and head to this register not now but RIGHT NOW.

Customers point of view:

  • Well they are TECHNICALLY still open so they can’t say anything
  • I ONLY need to run in and get ONE thing and I know exactly where it is.
  • I know they’re about to close and I DON’T CARE! Wish they would say something.

Associates point of view:

  • Oh Hell NAW! You got to be freaking kidding me! 3 minutes until we close tho?
  • Please tell me they didn’t just go into the fitting room?
  • Don’t ask me for S*** because whatever it is your looking for WE DON’T HAVE IT.

Like I’ve stated before I know both ends of the spectrum. I too have been that customer. But after working in retail I respect EVERYONE’s time. I personally would NEVER go into ANY establishment 30 minutes prior to closing. But Hey, that’s me!

You learn sooo much being on the other side of the counter. TRUST ME!

Motto here: My Time is Valuable and You need to Respect that!

To all my current, previous, and soon to be retail, fast food, or heck any customer facing associates this one was for YOU! I know your struggle and I respect it!

Not only is your time valuable but so are you as a person.

      We are human! It has & will happen. But if we are more aware we won’t do it AS often. I’m just tryna create Dialogue and awareness. 😊

    Girllllllaaaaaa you preaching to the choir!!!! This is so true , even as a manager ! It’s the same situation. But I also understand the customers point of view howeverrrrrrrrr come tomorrow dammit… matter fact we ain’t got your sizeeee 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🙄🙄🙄

      😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Str8 like that! Respect is respect. I posted this tonight and I legit had a woman and her daughter stroll in at 8:57!!!! She left by 9 but still, had we had what she was looking for this story would’ve ended differently 😒

    Yeah, I’m guilty and have been that customer. 😔 Lol But i def has good reasoning, early morning need when the mall wouldn’t of been open! 😉….but I’ve def been on the Associates side and have hated! Lol Def respect people’s time!

      We have all been there! We’re human! It’s when you come in and want to take an extra 30 mins to an hour is when I’m REALLY looking at you crazy. 😂😂
