No Home Training
This rant was bound to happen one day. As a child I always heard the saying that “a child should know there place”. Ever heard that saying before? I have a feeling that some parents don’t go by this saying anymore. Let’s jump right into it, No Home Training.
Have you ever been shopping in a store and see someones child or children running around the store screaming and knocking stuff over like they have lost their entire minds? Then you look around for the parents who happens to be on the other side of the store, or better yet nowhere in sight.
I swear sometimes my store is the epitome of a retail daycare. Literally just the other day I was cleaning up the store and I saw a mom shopping in the front of the store and her baby who look to be maybe two crawling around on the ground.
Now I was totally fine with the baby doing what babies does best, because his father was right behind him. But the next thing you know the mom calls the husband over to look at a dress and leaves the whole entire child unattended. That not only leaves me to feel like the guardian of the child but then the child starts to roll racks full of clothes around the store. Like what am I supposed to do in this situation?
WHY?
First of all, I shouldn’t even have to be put in a situation where I even have to THINK about asking myself this question. Why are you nowhere near your child and why are you acting as if you can’t see nor hear? Why am left to play parent and while your happily shopping for clothes? Why is there popcorn sprinkled throughout the store? Why is your child standing on the platform where only our mannequin’s should be? Why are they crawling under shelves? Why are they leaving their starbucks cups everywhere in the store? Why? Why? Why?
Am I Crazy?
Am I crazy or should we go back to the days when parents use to say, “don’t touch nothing, because you not getting nothing”? I can laugh at it now but back when I was a kid, parents meant business when those words came out they mouth. And trust and believe we were shook. Nowadays things are way different.
Is it wrong of me to not want your child moving around retail fixtures and furniture? Crawling all over the place, crawling under customers fitting rooms, spilling food all over the store. Is it outlandish for me to want you to keep your child? I mean really people, things that make you go Hmm..
Moral of the Story
You are not on vacation because you choose to go shopping. Retail associates are nobodies babysitter. If you’re not multi talented enough to do both, shop online. Please and Thank you!

That’s a tough situation! And that was only one child! I’ve seen two or three running loose before and think of how stressful that is! I’ve got one toddler and keeping her under wraps while shopping is always a challenge! I usually shop online now lol
