Let’s Catch Up

For those returning you know the drill already. But for all my newbies, I want to play a little catch up so you can kinda get an idea of where I left off of my last income report. Last month I was REALLY intrigued with getting more views. So what do you do when you want to learn how to do something better? You do your research, and you ask questions! So in April I wanted to kill my page views from March, but we will go into detail on all that a little later. 😉

Income Report Catch Up

So now that you know what my research was on Pinterest for the month of April, it’s time for you to get reacquainted with my other income reports. The whole point in writing these income report is to really motivate all my new blogger friends. I want you to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. All you have to do is “Just keep swimming“. 🐠🐟

Well what can I say? My blogging career is taking off! 😏😂 No, but seriously, I am extremely proud of my numbers. 😁 Although it may not seem like a lot to some, to real bloggers in the game, they know it takes forever for most to even see ANY income until well after six months. So like I tell all my friends, family members and coworkers, you have to celebrate the little wins.

The Ugly Truth

I absolutely LOVE writing the ugly truth about blogging! It’s my opportunity to keep it 1,000 with you and not feel bad about it. In this section you know that I’m about to be blunt as hell so there is absolutely no need to have any feelings or emotions attached when it comes to me giving you my truth.

See a lot bloggers out here like to give you a lot of deception in this wonderful world of blogging. They want to give you false hope while they claim they are giving you their truth. You have to see the sheep in wolves clothing. Some bloggers have ulterior motives. Now don’t get me wrong, blogging is a business and like most we want to make money, hell most of us NEED to. So I get it, but what I don’t get is why not come right out about it.

If your writing a post to sell your product let us know and we will make the decision on rather not we will continue to read it. I tend to see a lot of this with the infamous income reports, because most bloggers make a lot of their money off of selling their own products or merchandise.

Let’s get to the ugly truth! I’m four months in, and if you were to search Pinterest and started looking through the pins you will see that most *NEW* bloggers are making anywhere from $200-$10,000 four month in on there new blogs. Now this is not to say that any of these bloggers didn’t make that amount of money in their fourth month blogging, but you have to READ facts ladies and gentlemen.

Keeping It Real

Whenever you start to read these blog post on how they made $9,000 there fourth month blogging you have to read the post thoroughly. It’s like the fine print on the back of medicine with the conditions that the pill might cause you. I have notice that some of the bloggers that are making crazy amounts of money on their *NEW* blog, ain’t new to blogging. They’ve had a blog before that may have failed, or their website crashed, or hell, they just gave up on it.

The point is, you have to take other people’s post with a grain of salt. You really have to read through the post to see exactly what that bloggers background is and exactly what they might be selling in order to get their numbers up that high so soon in the game.

Read The Fine Print

I say all that to say, you making ANY money during your first six months is a victory! You are Legit killing the game. Even if you are six months in and your are only making $5, guess what you are doing SOMETHING right. Don’t let these income reports kill your motivation nor discourage you. You have to read the fine print. Full newbie status is literally a struggle, and it’s supposed to be just that. If it was easy everyone would be doing it, right?!

Look At YOUR Facts

You really have to look at your facts. Although I’m addicted to reading and writing income reports, that does not mean that I take what other bloggers say as BIBLE, nor do I think I am an expert AT all. My journey is NOT your journey. My path is NOT your path, and the reason why I’m a blogger will NOT be the reason why you decided to join this amazing field.

Don’t EVER let another bloggers post discourage you in any way! Nor should you feel like you should be making x amount of money if you are at a certain point in your blogging career. There are a lot of things that you have to look into before comparing yourself to another blogger.

Check the background of the person that you are comparing yourself to. Then ask yourself a few questions as your doing so. Here are a few to consider.

  1. How long have they been blogging compared to you?
  2. How many post do they have?
  3. Are they a hobby blogger or is this there full time job?
  4. What is the quality of work?
  5. How many followers does that blogger have?
  6. What is there niche?
  7. What is that blogger doing that you’re not?

Now those are just a few, but they are very important questions to ask yourself before you take on the risk of doubting your capabilities. Once you answer some of those questions you will see the bigger picture. Everyone is different and every blogger has a different situation and also a different reason as to why they do what they do. All things to keep in mind when comparing your blog to someone elses, and your work to another bloggers..

What Worked and What Didn’t

Per usual I want to focus on what worked and what didn’t work for me this month. I use a few different social media platforms to get my content out there so here is the rundown on how they worked out.

Facebook

When it comes to getting views my Facebook groups are amazing. It can definitely give your blog a good and a bad reaction depending on the bloggers motive. I have found that 30% of the people who view my post via Facebook groups actually take the time to read the blog and comment organically while others are strictly there to follow the directions from each thread and move on.

For example if one of the Facebook groups says to comment, or share five other blog post, you better believe that 9/10 most of the people in that thread will share your content verses commenting, or even reading your post because like Instagram to read and comment on a post is just too time consuming. 🙄😒

What this does for your blogging stats is kill it! In the worst way possible. People will go onto your site, find the first image they can pin, tweet, or share in general and click right off your blog. This makes your bounce rate sky rocket. (If you need more information on bounce rate check out my last income report.) Some bloggers don’t understand the logistics of sharing content. Although your direction in the thread is to comment or share, you know that staying on a post for one minute or longer is expected to keep everyone’s bounce rate at a good rate.

All in all, use Facebook groups with a grain of salt. Figure out which groups are better for your stats and stick with those groups only. Find the organic people who comment and go to their blog and reciprocate the love.

Instagram

Now I’m giving you my personal experience with Instagram. Almost NONE of my traffic comes from this social media platform. I’ll post my newest blog post and might get one or two clicks on that post the entire month. Am I saying that Instagram is a total waste of time? For me yes, but for you it could be a game changer. Have I given up completely on Instagram? No, but do I expect more views to appear from that platform? NO. So take this all with a grain of salt once again. My path will not be your path. Try it and see what works.

Pinterest

As a new blogger Pinterest was such a disappointment in the beginning. I mean I started my business Pinterest account from scratch. I did not take my personal account and merge it into my business account so at first I could not see how sooo many bloggers raved about Pinterest being there #1 source of views.

When I first started out all my love came from Facebook. But now four months later Pinterest is MY #1 source for views. I could not post on any social media platform and still get a lot of views from Pinterest. I couldn’t continue to have as much faith in my blogging journey if it wasn’t for Pinterest. I love this platform THE absolute most. Not only do I get the most organic and genuine view, but I get the most uplifting comments too. Thank you to all my Pinterest followers and viewers. Even if you are only here to read this one post it means sooo much that you picked me to learn from.

Twitter

Twitter is a new platform for me. I stopped using Twitter a little after I graduated from college. It just wasn’t my speed anymore. But now that I’m blogging and I’m taking my work seriously, my blogging mentor suggested that I put my work on Twitter and Tumblr. Now since I am fairly new to this and my mentor isn’t, I am totally fine with taking her advice. So what did I do? I set up a Twitter and a Tumblr account.

I’ve only had Twitter for literally two months and within the first month it seemed pointless, but now with these Facebook groups and blogging communities I’ve been receiving more and more love via Twitter. So Thank you to all my Twitter friends for the continuous love and support! I do see you, and all that you do. 😘

Tumblr

I’ve probably been on Tumblr 3 out of the 4 months I’ve been blogging. I am not gonna lie, I barely know what I’m doing when it comes to Tumblr, hell I barely got my profile setup correctly. But don’t sleep on Tumblr, the blogging community is heavy on Tumblr and as a new blogger you have to check all avenues to see what will work for you the most. Anytime I post a blog post I have my wordpress site setup to where Twitter and Tumblr automatically post my content. One less platform that I have to worry about posting to later. If your not on there yet and want to give it a try add me as a friend when you do.

How I Made $59.65 My Fourth Month Blogging

Pin Me

I think I made you guys wait long enough right? It’s time to get to the good stuff. The real reason why all of you are here. How I Made $59.65 My Fourth Month Blogging. Let me tell you now, it was not easy! I legit thought that this month’s income report was going to be less than last month. I was stressing, I didn’t want my new bloggers to be discouraged about setbacks. But isn’t that the whole point in sharing? To give a true vision of what to expect?

I decided that no matter how I end the month I will still give my faithful viewers the same transparent approach as I would expect any other blogger to. Blogging is a business, and although you want to only share the good and fun stuff, this is real life and sometimes you have to write about the bad as well. What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger and in my case, smarter.

Designer For Hire

So to start off How I made my $59.65, I have to talk to you about my Designer for Hire business. I’m trending on this aspect of my income post once again because most of my money came from my Social Media Graphics business that I launched this year. Word is getting out that hiring a graphic designer is the way to go. A lot of my customers just don’t have the time to design their next post because they are too busy writing their next amazing blog post or creating their next phenomenal product. I legit take on the process and relieve one thing off your plate.

Pin Me For Later

What I love most about this business is that it basically sells itself. You either need someone to help you create a graphic or you don’t. If you check out my Designer for Hire page you will see some of my satisfied customer. They are truly seeing results and are happy with not only my work but my customer service.

Can You Appreciate My Honesty?

I think the hardest part about someone paying you to design something for them is that they don’t know rather or not it’s scam. OK, maybe that’s more of my thought process, when I’m purchasing from someone I don’t know especially online these days. The great thing about my business is that I will fix a design until you love it, or a least like it a whole lot! 😏🤭 Plus you are paying with a reliable source, Paypal.

So if you or someone you know, are in need of some social media graphics please stop by my page and lets get started with a consultation which are completely free. Who doesn’t like FREE? Plus the prices are amazing! Check me out, I’m telling you it’s worth a peek.

Tailwind

How awesome is Tailwind Tribes? Like seriously, Tailwind has changed my blogging career forever. If you have read a few of my blog post I try to keep my life in perspective. I work TWO jobs and I legit do not have the time to pin 10+ post on Pinterest a day. A woman got bills to pay! Bills that my blog isn’t paying YET!

So I say all that to say, if you have not gotten on the Tailwind train you absolutely need too. I discussed some of the tribes that I’m involved in, in both my blogging communities, second and third income reports. So check back there for more deets. During the month of April once again Tailwind stayed showing me major love and I accept it wholeheartedly.

This link will Send a Free Month of Tailwind to you and I could get a $15 credit for myself when you upgrade. It’s a win-win!

Google AdSense for the Month of April

Here is my Overview for the Month of April

Now remember these figures will only get paid out once I hit the $100 mark so this is my income before they are actually paid out. I just want you to keep that in mind. That is why my current earrings are just estimates.

I highlighted in pink the days I actually made “money” Sorry my lines are so ugly! I’m still working on it😂😂

I highlighted in pink the days I actually made “money” Sorry my lines are so ugly! I’m still working on it😂😂

So as you can see I made money on AdSense almost every single day. Every month my AdSense total increases. It is definitely a way to make you feel like you have accomplished something as a new blogger. Just when you thought no one was reading your blog 💥 there goes money hitting your account. (Well not in real life just yet, but you are well on your way). Just keep blogging and they will come.

ShareASale

I’ve never went into major detail about ShareaSale which is one of my affiliate programs but it’s definitely one to talk about. If you want to learn more about affiliates check out this link here. ShareaSale is a great way to start making money once you monetize your website. They have 100+ of different retailers to fit any niche and the commissions are pretty good for most companies.

Granted I have yet to make any commission off of any of their products but I have gotten tons of clicks on their banners, Which leads me to believe that a sale is defiantly on the horizon. I’ve been with them from the beginning and although no streams of revenue have came in yet, I am NOT discouraged. Like I always say “just keep swimming, just keep swimming.”

Traffic Breakdown

So like I’ve done in the past I am including my traffic breakdown so you can get a clear picture of how my numbers are in relations to the money I make. The whole point in writing income reports to me is to be as clear and transparent as possible. This is not a fluff post nor am I sugar coating ANY of my numbers. What you see is literally what you get. So let’s get this run down started.

Here is an overview of the month of April. The whole goal is having any kind of business growth. I can honestly say I am hella proud of my baby blog once again! I’m crushing my goals! I wanted to have 2,000 page views compared to last money and 💥! She (as in me) made it happen. Let’s break down what you see.

The Breakdown

So in the month of April I have a total of 1,766 users. Out of the 1,766 people 1,725 were new to my website. Now out of the total of 1,766 users I was able to hit a total of 2,538 pageviews!!! Can a sista get a silent clap please? 👏👏💃💃

Out of those 2,538 pageviews my users stayed at least 55 seconds. So what that is telling me is that some of you guys are liking my stuff, while others visited and probably shared and post and left. The goal is to have viewers/users stay on your page for at LEAST one minute in order to lower your bounce rate from other users who come to get cliff notes.

Cute Spring & Summer Dresses, Clothing, Shoes, & More! - Lulus.com

At the end of the day not only are goals being accomplished here ladies and gentlemen, they are being crushed! Never underestimate what you are capable of and always keep faith that what you are doing means something to someone. It might not be today but in a few days, weeks, or months your post will matter!

Now just to recap for those who was not with us last month, in the month of March I had a total of 572 users. Out of the 572 people 541 were new to my website. Now out of the total of 572 users I was able to hit a total of 1,028 pageviews!!! I’m giving you last month numbers just so you can see the growth in a matter of months.

My Blogging Schedule for April

My blogging schedule for April wasn’t as bad as March but it definitely could’ve been better. As a blogger rather you are new or tendered in the game, never cut yourself slack. Making excuses now will lead to laziness later or even worse, no blog at all. If you make a schedule for yourself let nothing but God come between you and your content schedule.

But on the same token your human, and let’s be real as a blogger you are your own boss. So make the necessary adjustments to keep your blog in good standing with you and your consistent viewers. Now don’t get me wrong, please live your BEST life but as your living it don’t forget to give a piece to your fans, they too need love. 😘

Blog Post

Now my goal for my Blog Post is to always post at least twice a month. I ended the month with 2 blog post! Not bad baby blogger not bad! 😎

Retail Rants

My goal with Retail Rants is to write a rant every Thursday! I held true to my goal! So once again Yay!! #Shebad But with all my extracurricular activities writing retail rants every thursday has become a bit too much. So going forward I will write a rant every OTHER Thursday. So instead of four rants a month you will now only get two. 😥I know, I know it’s going to be hard for all f us to wait a whole week for another rant but a girl has got to live life, and this summer I have a lot going on. So it’s just best that I set the new schedule now. This is not forever this is just for right now.

Motivational Quotes

My goal with Motivational Quotes is to post once a week. I actually did two for the whole month! So One motivational quote every other week! Not too bad but I could do better. I mean who doesn’t like to read a motivational quote once a week? One of my goals for next month is to do sooo much better with my quotes! I have a whole page dedicated to them and it needs to have sooo many more.

Get The Looks For Less

Get The Look for Less is supposed to be bi-weekly. I actually fell short on this goal. I was only able to accomplish one look this month. But it was one hell of a look! (If I may say so myself) 😏💁‍♀️ I can honestly say I LOVE writing the Get The Look For Less but I’m not even going to lie it is one time consuming piece. That actually might be the reason I can only get out one a month. BUT I will do better with getting these looks out to you on a more frequent basis.

Interior Design

The goal for Interior Design is to post a topic here one or twice a month. I actually fell short of this goal so in May the goal will to make up for April. I promise to make it good. 😋😘

Goals for May

Finally we have gotten to one of the most important part of any income report, the goals. There is no way any blogger can continue being successful without setting and crushing goals every month. So let’s do this! Last month I set a goal of getting 2,000 page views and I did better than that by ending the month of April with 2,538 page views. So of course I want to set an even higher goal for myself for May. Remember the motto is to be a Goal Crusher! No Mediocre blogging over here! I got’s to do better in May!

My Top Pin For The Month Of April

Ladies and Gentlemen this pin has went viral for two whole months and is still doing fairly well on Pinterest to this day! When I tell you that you never know when the viral pin will happen, I’m serious, you just never know.

Before You Go

Per usual I want to leave you with some words of wisdom. If this was your first time reading one of my income reports I want you to know that you can do whatever you put your mind to. If you are trying to decide if you want to start this journey in blogging, I say JUST DO IT like NIKE. Take a leap of faith and believe that you will be successful.

Quick Tips

First find your Niche, then do self hosting I recommend Bluehost but you can always check your other options. Decide what you want to post and then write your heart out. Leave it all on the blog. Find yourself a blogging community and while your at it find yourself a good blogging mentor. The best way to find a blogging mentor is to find someone of like minded nature that you can easily relate to and won’t be offended by their corrections or advice but you indulge in it, you crave it because you want to be the best blogger you can be. Always look at ways you can level up and be a better blogger each and every day.

Really appreciate your honesty when it comes to income reports. There are way too many fake ones out there. I am glad that you are making some income in your early months of blogging! Very encouraging for beginner bloggers.

I try to be very transparent when it comes to writing these reposts. I like to give what I feel I was lacking when I started. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post!

You better believe it girl! Sometimes you have to motivate yourself to be great. I have to keep it 100% real. This blogging venture is not easy & I won’t let my readers believe that it is. Thanks for reading 😬

Thank you Heena for checking out my post. I try to be as transparent as you when it comes to my struggles as a new blogger. I think more honesty is definitely needed in this field. We new bloggers got to stick together! 😊

  • Sonia Seivwright

Now I feel like I need to step up my game with Pinterest. I can’t have been using Facebook groups and it’s going great but I feel I need to give Pinterest a try again and really focus on it. Hopefully, I can start making money.

Yaaaasssss girl! It is a game changer for real! Sometimes you just have to do it! Add me & I’ll pin some of your stuff! 😉

I’m new to blogging too! I started at the beginning of April. For what it’s worth, I found you through a Facebook thread and I’m so glad I did. This post had a ton of great information and the other posts I checked out did too! After I read this, I made the leap to sign up for affiliate marketing and ads! Thanks for the post!

    • Designs by Vee

Yay Amanda!!!!!!! I love it! I’m glad you took the leap. Welcome to the Blogging Community. We are soooo happy to have you. Affiliate Marketing takes time but it will definitely make you feel like you made it once you make your first cent. And I mean that literally 😬. Thank you for taking the time out to read it. Definitely planning on checking out your post!

Always appreciate your honesty about being a new blogger because I feel like I was lied to SOOOOOO much before I started blogging. These people didn’t care that they were luring me in to a lifelong commitment, they wanted the affiliate sales from their links on their ‘I made $4,000 in my first month blogging’ posts.

Also, I’m super excited for you about Twitter! What an accomplishment! 😍

I bet your design for hire biz will take off like a rocket! You’re SO good at it!

Love the update, girl! Keep killin it!

    • Designs by Vee

Awwwww Thank you so much! You definitely need the encouragement of amazing bloggers like yourself! I hope to make my first $100 in my next income report! Fingers crossed! 🤞🏾 Maybe twitter will get me there. Who knows 😏🤷🏾‍♀️ Thank you for taking the time out to read my post! 😁
