I Have a Return

So you Have a Return? I really can’t believe I actually waited this long to do a rant about this one! 😂 Like OMG! 🙄 This is going to be a good one ladies and gentlemen. Let check out some recent Returns that happened in my store.

No matter what day I work, there is ALWAYS a return that will take place. They always typically start the same way, but it’s how they end that is the real story teller. When I tell you that I can’t make this stuff up. 

I’m legit telling you I can’t! This stuff really happens in retail on a daily basis.

Let’s Role Play

Associate: Hi, you have a return today?

Customer: Yes

Associate: Would you like to get something else?

Customer: No

Associate: OK, so was there something wrong with the item?

Customer: It didn’t fit the way I thought it would.

Associate: OK

Now in the midst of this conversation the associate has called bullshit quite a few times. Would you like to know why?

Well for one there is absolutely NO WAY this item didn’t fit you ma’am! Not only is your makeup ALL OVER the d*** shirt but it also reeks of your horrible perfume.

Thoughts to self: So did the shirt stop fitting before or after you decided to wear it? Things that make you go hmmm 🤔.

Oh But Wait There’s More

OR how about the guy who returned some jeans because they were the “wrong size“, but they have mustard stains on the pants leg. So you mean to tell me you sat through a whole meal with jeans that didn’t fit you? Awww that’s awful.

But you know what’s worst than that? You lying to my face as you walk to the back to get a clean pair of jeans. Like, did you hate washing clothes sooo bad that you would, not only lie, but bring your unsalable merchandise back to get the exact pair of jeans you already had. 😒😡

I legit had a guy this very week come into the store to do a return on three shirts. Because (now get this) they were “poorly made“.

He told me that when he washed the shirts that the inseams started to come undone. Now I, in no way am saying that those shirts weren’t made poorly. But what I am saying is he legit can’t wash clothes.

Furthermore if you come in to return not one, not two BUT  three graphic tees because you thought the shirts were “poorly made“, PLEASE tell me why you would go to the back and NOT only get MORE graphic tees BUT get the EXACT SAME ONES!!!!!  😠🤨 Like WTH?

Then he has the nerve to ask me how he should wash the shirts?!? 🤨 Now sir I’m sure you’ve been on this earth a whole lot longer than me, you mean to tell me that you forgot about the tag that’s on EVERY piece of clothing that gives you specific directions on how to care for the item?

Of course these are all thoughts that I have in my head, but if you haven’t learned from my previous rants, my face gives away a lot of my thoughts. 😂🤷🏾‍♀️

I was nice to the man and told him how to wash the shirts. And I specifically told him to not dry them but let them air dry. 🙄 Will he come back in the next week or so with more shirts? Eh, probably but hey not my problem.

Moral of the story: We as associates know when your lying about your return. 90% of us could honestly care less. We ask because it’s part of our job, so do us a favor and save your lies for someone else. Please and Thank you!

    I hardly ever return stuff in store cause I usually only shop Amazon…. but dear lort! Are these people insane? I can’t imagine acting a fool like that in a store!

    I’ve never worked retail, but I worked at bars and movie theaters and other places people feel like they have the right to act like shady messes. I legit had a guy SCREAM at me about a refund for a 3 hour movie because ‘it didn’t end the way that he though it should have! The trailers were completely misleading’…. he also wanted a refund for the hot dog, XXL tub of popcorn and XL tub of soda he sucked down… ‘they weren’t satisfying because the movie was bad’….

    Do people have no shame?!?!?!

      😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂 OMG! Girl I am dead! ⚰⚰ What in the entire world! How could you HONESTLY think that you should be refunded for a movie you watched all the way through! I swear some people make me wanna hurt them.

      CLEARLY this topic goes for ANY front facing associate. I’m glad this post is a little enlightening to some and entertaining to others. I love the dialogue. Thanks for sharing and showing my post sooo much love! 😘

    I don’t even pay attention to the reason of a return anymore cause people straight up lie. But what I do have a problem with is when they come in for a return and it’s smells like they been through the streets. I legit had a guy come in and return a shirt that smelt like straight Weed… like it was disrespectful lol. It was so strong I swear I got high. It was that bad. I wasn’t gonna return it at first but I wasn’t bout to have a whole fight with this customer so I took it back and damaged it out. People pleeeasssseee have some couth when it comes to returning. I’m kinda mad we didn’t think of this one earlier too 😂

      😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Glen listen! You are absolutely right! I too have experienced the weed returns. 😂🙄 Some people legitimately don’t care. I was sooooooo shocked that I hadn’t discussed this topic already! That just goes to show retail has UNLIMITED TOPICS! Thanks for always staying up on my blog post! You are one of my biggest supporters! Trust me it doesn’t go unnoticed 😘
